Sport
All students at Yea High School are actively encouraged to be a part of the sport program.
The program is focused on student involvement in team and individual sports. The benefits to students who participate in sport beyond the classroom are well documented. Sport contributes to the students’ sense of belonging at the school, cultivates a sense of co-operation, and assists with the development of friendship.
Yea High School is a member of the Hume Region of the School Sport Victoria. Annually the school conducts House: Swimming; Athletics and Cross Country where all students compete against their fellow students. Students can also compete bi-annually against other schools in the Region in round robin team sports in the following areas: Australian Football; Badminton; Basketball; Cricket; Football (Soccer); Netball; Table Tennis; Volleyball. If students do well in their individual or team sports they advance onto regional and then onto state in their areas.
